Workshop "Inspiration for Inquiry Learning" - Amsterdam

The workshop "Inspiration for Inquiry Learning"'?took place in Amsterdam on December 8, 2014. It was organised by theFreudenthal Institute and involved 23 teachers and 2 students from 15 schools.

The main aim of the workshop was to get inspired by how teaching and learning according to an inquiry approach can be supported by technology. After a brief presentation, all participants workedin small groups and set up a lesson plan structure, distinguishing the learning activities of the inquiry approach, categories of digital, interactive tools, and the functions that these tools can fulfil in supporting teaching and learning processes. Once these lessonstructures were created, each group started to narrate itslesson structure by presenting it to the others,so that everyone could learnfrom and respond to others' narratives.

Participants learntabout the diversity of available digital, interactive tools that can be used to support inquiry-based education. They learnthow learning goals can be achieved by supporting inquiry-based teaching with digital, interactive tools. They also learnthow learning activities can be supported by different categories of tools, and that tools can fulfil different functions in the processes of teaching and learning.
